I love the convenience of this Panasonic rice cooker. Though I haven't steamed vegetables during the rice cooking cycle using the steamer insert that comes with it, I think it is a useful feature.
The steam escapes in several places and there is a side reservoir that you need to empty after each use. The steam coming out of the top does make quite a mess, so be sure to have some paper towels handy.
I love the retractable cord. All the rice I have made has turned out great. I highly recommend this rice cooker.

Overall this rice cooker is doing the job. I just don't like cleaning up afterwards. The steam coming out of the lid can make a mess. I have to clean it up everytime. I would recommend a different brand or model that can cook rice without additional work.
